Looking for a quick 15-minute side dish? These air fryer green beans are tender, slightly crispy, and loaded with garlic. Made entirely in the air fryer with just 5 ingredients, this healthy side dish pairs well with any meal!
Clean the green beans. Start soaking the green beans in cold water for 2-3 minutes. Clean them well to remove any dirt, and drain them well. Transfer them to a plate lined with kitchen paper towels to remove the remaining moisture.
Cut off the stems. Using your hands or a small knife, cut off the stems of the green beans and discard them.
Toss with oil. Transfer the green beans to a mixing bowl and pour olive oil. Toss to coat the green beans with the oil. Add the minced garlic, salt, and pepper, and toss again to coat.
Air Fry
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Add the green beans to the basket. Arrange the green beans in an even layer in the air fryer basket. It’s okay if some of them overlap.
Air fry. Finally, air fry for 7-8 minutes, shaking the air fryer basket once halfway through baking. If you want the green beans slightly caramelized, air fry for another 1-2 minutes.
Serve. Transfer the cooked green beans to a serving plate, add the chopped parsley, and toss to combine.
You can store these green beans in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Please keep them in an airtight container or plate covered with plastic wrap.
Notes
Pat the green beans dry. After rinsing the green beans, ensure you are patting them dry completely. This will allow the oil and seasonings to coat them evenly.
Do not overcrowd the basket. To prevent uneven cooking, it is important to avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. It's okay if some green beans overlap, but they should be arranged into a single layer. I recommend air frying in two batches if you are planning to double the recipe.
Check doneness. Since all brands of air fryers yield slightly different results, I recommend checking the doneness of the green beans after 6 minutes. If they are still firm, cook for another 2 minutes and check again.
Do not omit the oil. Oil or melted butter is essential to achieve a crispy texture. It also brings richness, enhancing the overall flavor.
